Hoojeveen, 1998

I was lucky to visit Lida's mother and see where Lida grew up, in 1998.

We visited a house where Lida's family had lived. I think Lida and her sisters grew up there.

We visited her mother in Hoojeveen. At that point she was in a nursing home. The mural behind Lida and her Mother show the countryside, famous for peat farming. I think Lida told me that her father had been a peat farmer.
